Requirements :

  1. Virtual or Dedicated server SSH Credentials with Root access or sudo user, along with SSH Port if changed from default.
  2. Submit other details like domain name, or any specific configuration need.

If the VPS is from AWS, GCP or Azure, it may require a Remote Desktop Session to Configure the Networking & Security Group Configurations or the Client may send Cloud Console credentials.

How this can help you?

If you are currently using BigBlueButton DEMO or natively integrated with your Moodle, Canvas, or OpenEdx LMS for free,

You have a few limitations:
1. Limited no of participants in a single session (Between 15 – 25)
2. Limited time or duration for a single session (Between 45 – 60 minutes)
3. Recordings expire in 7 days or are not allowed at all.
4. Recordings aren’t downloadable.

As long as these limitations don’t bother you or your business interests, everything should be fine.

If you want to get rid of the limitations, by spending some money you have two good options

  1. Get self-hosted BigBlueButton on Cloud platforms or a Dedicated server (If you need to)
  2. Get managed BigBlueButton hosting for your current needs (Why not? If it makes sense).
