But Large Businesses, Enterprises, Institutions & Universities that have more than 200 Concurrent Users, should adopt cluster BigBlueButton infrastructure for better scale and performance.

We can do everything required to set up a BigBlueButton Cluster for the Concurrent Users capacity you need.

Cluster BigBlueButton Infrastructure with Minimum Server Specifications (200 Concurrent Users )

2 BigBlueButton Node Servers (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, 8 CPU cores,  16 GB RAM,  100 GB Disk Space)
1 Scalelite Server  (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS,  4 CPU cores,  8 GB RAM,  500 GB Disk Space)
1 TURN/STUN Server (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS,  2 CPU cores,  2 GB RAM,  30 GB Disk Space)

Cluster BigBlueButton Infrastructure (400 Concurrent Users)

2 BigBlueButton Node Servers (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, 16 CPU cores,  32 GB RAM,  100 GB Disk Space)
1 Scalelite Server  (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS,  8 CPU cores,  16 GB RAM,  2 TB Disk Space)
1 TURN/STUN Server (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS,  2 CPU cores,  4 GB RAM,  30 GB Disk Space)

Installation Cost: 250 USD One-time (Cost remains same as long as the number of servers doesn’t increase, irrespective of their specifications)

For more concurrent users you need to Increase the number of BigBlueButton Node Servers on the Cluster. BigBlueButton Node servers can be added later to scale the concurrent capacity further.

Add-on Cost for each extra BigBlueButton Node Servers: 60 USD if installed with the cluster together, 80 USD to scale up later.

Infrastructure Provider: Any of your choice (We are familiar with multiple cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean etc.)

Deliverables: Scalelite or BigBlueButton Load Balancer API Endpoint and Secret, that you can use to integrate with your LMS or CMS like Moodle, Canvas, etc.

FINAL OUTCOME:

LMS, CMS, or Frontend Platforms like Greenlight Dashboard will utilize the Scalelite or Load Balancer API to Create, Join, and manage BigBlueButton sessions. Recordings will be served through the Load Balancer API Endpoint. BigBlueButton sessions will be assigned to multiple BigBlueButton Node Servers across the cluster.

Technical Terms Explained:
Scalelite: It works as a Load Balancer for BigBlueButton, developed by the BigBlueButton team.
TURN: External TURN(Coturn) server, to help users to connect from behind the Firewall or VPNs and avoid audio issues.
Concurrent Users: The total number of users across the platform, can use the platform simultaneously.

We configure the NFS Storage volume on scalelite server itself by default for the Recordings sync from all BigBlueButton Node Servers.
Most clients use LMS or CMS like Moodle or Canvas with the BigBlueButton Cluster so we don’t do Greenlight Dashboard Installation & Rebranding as part of this setup. But we also provide that as a service.
